what should I put there. What I'm trying to say is that some people say that lung cancer can be caused by the use of tobacco. and on the other hand, some people saying that it is most commonly caused by cigarette smoking.

So how do I put these in words?

useage or exposure to tobacco products.

It has been proven smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer. Other forms such as chewing tobacco is seen alot with cancers of the throat and mouth. Your word arguably confuses me a bit in this sense.

Uhm there are no cigarettes without tobacco so I'm not sure exactly what you're getting at. You also need to re-word the question. For example, the MOST COMMON cause of lung cancer is smoking cigarettes. There are other causes, other carcinogenics such as chemical exposure, etc., even in Illinois here where coal miner's get lung cancer (black lung). So I think it needs to be a little more specific question or a broader answer.

I wouldn't say tobacco, but most likely cigarette smoking is the cause of lung cancer, as tobacco isn't necessarily the only carcinogen in cigarettes. Or genetics.

Well lets see for one I know 2 people that smoked and both had lung cancer and they both were told by their doctor that it was not due to smoking....everyone has a cancer gene in their body but its whether it decides to become active or not. And I know one that had cancer everywhere and hers was due to too much stress. People just want to blame smoking on that due to no other thing to blame it on. But I have grandparents that smoked all their lives and only had asthma or something like that and never got cancer and nowadays a lot of people are getting cancer and I think it is due to medicence that are out now that use to not be and foods and drinks that are out now that use to not be. But everyones answer can be different due to their opionins.

well in my mom's case...we now think it could have been from second hand smoke. my mom never smoked, but HER mom did, back in the 1940's & 50's, before they knew it was dangerous!

she is dying from stage 4 lung cancer. it was caught at stage 4, and is inoperable.
