I won't go into the types the other post explained those well. The managment of leukemia involves stopping the proliferation of the cancerous cell and supporting the body. Nursing responsibilities include, assessment, patient and family suppport, assisting with medical procedures, medication administration, education, patient care. A few NANDA diagnoses: (just off the top of my head)

altered coping, altered family coping, pain, anxiety, fear, grieving, altered health mainenance, high risk for infection, knowledge defecid, altered nutrition, personal identity disturbance, self care deficit, spiritual distress, impaired social interaction etc.

it simply a problem with the function of the bone marrow which is responsible for producing white and red blood cells and platelets.

they might increase or drop to very low levels.

the types are various and different, and the outcome is also different.

the treatment is usually chemotherapy.

this is as simple as i can get it to you,if you want to know more...its either you get some books or google it or go into medical school as i did.

The most important nursing diagnosis would be "risk for infection" good handwashing, monitoring of blood counts very important
