i woke up this am to find a large, soft lump on my mastiff. it doesn't seem to bother him but it bothers me that it appeared so fast with no apparent break in the skin or anything else that would show injury. He also has kennel cough. are they related?

All dogs, regardless of breed, are capable of developing tumors. But yes, Bullmastiffs are especially prone to lymphoma, which is one type of cancer. Where is the lump? Does it feel anchored, or can it kind of move around? You should bring him to the vet. It's probably a bug bite or a sebaceous cyst, but you need to check to be sure.

Yes, they can get tumors. You had better get him to the vet and have him checked over.

So how are you???
