My friend recomended it and I loved the flavour, it was mango and i had strawberry boba, but I avoided the boba because I was scared they weren't edible. I had one on my mouth but spat it out! Now I've read they might be rubber or adhiesive and although I didn't eat the boba I did drink the mango drink, and I'm scared because someone online said they cause cancer, does this mean I'm going to become ill or die?!
I had this drink in SCOTLAND not TAIWAN I know it's a popular thing over there, but I'm still worried! Should I seek medical help?

Bubble tea is awesome, and no it is not dangerous and of course it's edible, silly. It's made from Tapioca.

"Someone Online"? Interesting. Ask them what medical school they went to, to determine that information. If you seek medical help for drinking a bubble tea the doctor will laugh at you.

You are fine. And then some.

They re perfectly edible, the bubbles are just tapioca balls, tapioca is a starch made from cassava root. I guess maybe it s not very common in Scotland (?) but people eat it all over the world, in the US tapioca is usually used in pudding. A lot of people don t like tapioca because the texture is somewhat odd, but there s nothing unhealthy about it beyond the fact that it s starchy and doesn t have many nutrients.

Bubbles are tapioca or semolina, plant products. Why on earth is that posted here?

If you went to A&E the would chase you for wasting their time, no you wont die and you can eat it and it isnt very popular here in Scotland but popular in other countries.
